This 45mm x 3.5mm thickness coin/key chain features 3D art by Chris Edley of the Kinsol Trestle located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Tom Spetter (www.tomspetter.com) has created the 2D First Nation and traditional wildlife side of the coin/key chain.

With a length of 614 feet, the Kinsol is one of the longest trestles in the British Commonwealth. The Kinsol Trestle is part of the Trans Canada Trail, but it has yet to be used as a link in the TC Trail because it is in a state of disrepair.

CVRD director Gerry Giles said it best: “We owe it to ourselves and to history to know that we have made the right decision.”

"Because the Kinsol Trestle no longer has to bear the weight of loaded logging trains, M&L propose to replace its first-growth fir timbers that are beyond saving with larger dimension western red cedar. This will provide longevity and meet required structural standards."

Landsharkz are working to raise awareness of the Kinsol Trestle and its potential to be a major tourism draw.

In addition, our goal is for this coin to be a lasting memory of the original Kinsol Trestle, a historical jewel in the Cowichan Valley.
