This collectible coin was made to commemorate HMCS Margaree (DDH 230). She was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on the 5th of October 1957.
She started her life as a destroyer escort but in the 1960's she underwent conversion into a destroyer helicopter escort by adding a hanger and flight deck.
